Bananas for dessert? Yup. Dip 'em in chocolate, top with nuts. Yum.
Why is the Super Bowl always at the beginning of the year, right when we're all keeping our resolutions and trying to eat healthy? I have an idea: Let's boycott and have it moved!
Well ... since we know that will never happen, I have a few twists on desserts that are delicious but still healthy. I promise no one will notice you used less sugar!
Brownies
Here's what you'll need -- one box of brownie mix and one can of pumpkin puree. Mix the brownie mix with the canned pumpkin in a large box. Put some muscle in it! Then pour the mixture into a greased brownie pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. That's it!
Chocolate-Covered Bananas
Take your desired amount of bananas, dip them in melted chocolate and store in the freezer until ready to eat. For an extra delicious touch, sprinkle your favorite crushed nuts on the chocolate.
Honey Cinnamon Oranges
Take your desired amount of oranges, peel them and place the slices on a serving platter. Mix 2 tablespoons honey and 2 teaspoons cinnamon (for every 2 oranges) in a small bowl. Drizzle mixture over oranges and garnish with mint leaves.
Fruit Salad
Take all your favorite fruits and mix them together in a large bowl. Drizzle with some fresh lemon juice and serve cold.
Another suggestion is to replace regular sugar with a sugar substitute such as Splenda in any of your favorite sweets recipes. Be sure to follow the directions on the packaging because Splenda in particular does not always measure the same as granulated sugar. Whatever it is you crave, you can always find a healthier alternative, thanks to the power of the Internet!
Invite all your friends over, cook up Jessica’s yummy chili and watch the big game! Then at halftime wow the crowd with a delicious, healthy dessert. Your guests will be none the wiser!
